CAUSES OF ACNE
The most common causes of acne vulgaris has been attributed to genetics, hormones, infections ,diet and stress,
environmental factors, medications.
Hereditary is a big factor here. If your parents were predisposed to acne, then the percentage of you experiencing
it is high. Statiscally, most cases of acne has been 80% genetics.
The puberty and adolescence stage also plays a role too. In your puberty stage, you develop a hormone called GnRH. Now this hormone brings about the production of more sebums (Sebums are supposed to be skin moisturizer). This causes an over production of oil in the skin leading to the appearance of pimples.
Environmental factors like pollution can expose your skin to acne. Working under humid conditions or very physical jobs that causes sweating can also cause vulgaris.
Medications should be taken according to your physician prescription. Many cases of acne have been related to the use of medicines. This can be very dangerous to your existing acne. Avoid lithium, hydantoin, bromides etc
