10 HOME REMEDIES FOR CONSTIPATION

Constipation is an obvious topic that probably everyone must have experienced it in one way or the other. It could have happened to you in an embarrassing or amusing manner. But, whichever way it happened it's no funny thing. It isn't a serious stuff, that's why you need to give these home remedies a trial and

1. Olive oil

yeah... Olive oil. Well, it shouldn't spring a surprise to you because it's got great alternative medicine benefits.

It acts as a lubricant, stimulant and and also an antioxidant making it a very good constipation home remedy.

It should be taken just before breakfast because it's a stimulant for digestive tract.


 2. Lemon

Lemon acts like a stimulant for digestive tract too. It helps in detoxifying the body and defying any effects of constipation. Adding lemon to your water or tea is what you need to feel refreshed.


 3. Coffee

Coffee especially the dark roasted ones are stimulants for digestion and contains fiber, water and oil which are essential to relieve your constipation. Being a diuretic, having more than a cup of coffee could reduce the number of times you use the bathroom.


 4. Aloe Vera

This isn't common yet because most people don't know aloe Vera could be helpful for intake apart from soothing cuts and burns. If you can get aloe vera gel from plant it can do the trick for you because it's more concentrated than aloe vera juice. Though, anyone you can lay your hands on would be helpful.


 5. Fiber

Fiber helps flush away unwanted stuffs from the digestive tract and it absorbs water from its surrounding. It also makes your stool soft - though not all fiber foods/fruits are good for constipation, that's why you need to take water regularly. Examples of fiber foods are beans, almonds, barley, broccoli, apricots.


 6. Mint or ginger

They produce similar effect on the body. They generally generate heat in the body to aid speedy digestion. It's a good constipation remedy.

 7. Prunes

This is a great home remedy for constipation being a fiber-rich fruit. It improves the digestive tract of the body. You should take 3 grams of prunes per day .


 8. Exercise

Exercises haven't been proven to be a remedy for constipation. It's only a way of preventing the symptoms of constipation. Try to jog or walk around for about 10 - 15 minutes everyday.


 9. Probiotic foods

Foods that are rich in probiotics tend to prevent severe constipation. It ensures bowel movement and stool consistency. Probiotic foods include yogurt and sauerkraut.


 10. Magnesium citrate

Vegetables such as nuts, fish and spinach are good instances of magnesium. It improves bowel movement and ensures soft stool.
